We had enough. So we took a stand.

Built in the plant room, not a software lab

AssetSnap was born in plant rooms, basements and boardrooms. The people building it have more than a century of facilities experience between them. We have hunted critical assets through naming that does not match the metal, and we have felt what a missed asset does to an estate.

The missing standard

The industry already has CIBSE for design, SFG20 for maintenance, and Spons and BCIS for cost. Collection — the actual list of what is in the building — had no equivalent. Snap-Certified is our answer: a seal on a record that was seen in the room, named from the photograph, and checked by a person. We want that seal to be as ordinary, and as trusted, as an SFG20 schedule.

One job

Plenty of platforms try to be the helpdesk, the finance system and the CAFM. The foundation is still the register. We only do collection. About 60 seconds an asset. The same thing named the same way every time. An air handling unit is always an air handling unit, not an AHU.

Our first customer, Katey, saw that clearly enough that she did not only buy the software. She joined the company.
